100 years!

2014 marks our school’s 100th anniversary on our current site (although the original school is much older!) We took the opportunity to tie this celebration into our learning, through our topic of ‘100’ through which we focused learning about the first world war and life in the Edwardian era, including exploring arts and crafts. Some of the beautiful work that the children produced in art can be seen in the school and below are also some of the children’s photographs of our local environment that they took through an earlier topic last year.

We all had a great day on 30th June 2014 as we stepped back in time! The children dressed as if they were from that era and led a celebration service followed by a ‘street party’ with parents, governors and members of the local community. I would like to pass on our thanks to everyone who came to share the special day with us, especially past pupils who we were very pleased to meet.

Here are some of the pictures that were taken of that day.
