Welcome to Miserden C of E Primary School

We firmly believe, that when children are allowed to be themselves, when they are allowed to learn at their own pace, with encouragement, with kindness, and above all, with fun, support and enthusiasm they will thrive!

Welcome to the homepage of
Miserden C of E Primary School

We are a small, highly regarded and successful school in Gloucestershire built on strong Christian values and excellent relationships between adults and children.

We pride ourselves in offering a first class, all round education. We have high but realistic expectations of each child, recognising each individual's strengths and weaknesses. We value parents, children and staff working together in order for each child to reach their potential. We are a small, friendly school with a strong family feel.

The school is located in the village but with wonderful views of fields and trees.

What is Miserden School like? I know I could write pages about the wonderful children, staff and parents but I thought you might like to know what the children think.

“If you are stuck the teachers always go through it with you so that you understand it.” – Freya

“I like the teachers” - Emilie S and Freda

“We had a walk and a little play because it was Autmn. It was good fun. We wrote stories about a wizard and a dragon.” - Obee

“I am looking forward to going to Copsegrove. School trips are great.” - Maddie

I hope this gives you a flavour of our wonderful school. Please feel free to come and see us in action. I know our children will make you very welcome.

Miserden C. of E. (Aided) Primary School Admissions Policy

My granddaughter invited me to 'Golden Book Assembly'. What can I say that will really be enough for how I felt when I sat there in the hall enveloped by such caring, loving and interested staff, pupils and parents (including grand parents). Every child was given a certificate for not just academic work but also for their caring friendship towards each other.
My 3 daughters have all loved Miserden Primary school and have done really well here under its nurturing environment.
Starting with Miserden last year was the best thing we've ever done. Kind, caring faculty and staff have made school a safe, nurturing environment in which to grow and learn.
Miserden is a lovely community set in unbelievably beautiful surroundings. we couldn't be happier!
We have always loved the friendly, warm, inclusive environment in the school itself, which is surrounded by the calm, peaceful beauty of the rural setting of Miserden Village. Everyone involved in the school brings a special spirit which nurtures the us all and welcomes anyone new.
For what the school lacks in numbers it makes up for in friendliness. The schools feels like an extension of our family. The small class numbers where everyone in the school really does know your name has enabled our children to feel safe happy and encouraged in the start of their education.
As Miserden is a small school the staff know my daughter well, they care and want her to reach her full potential. I love how the children work and interact with all ages and not just their own age group.
I love that there is plenty of outdoor space and the woods on their doorstep. Forest school is a real adventure taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings Miserden has to offer.
The staff are very friendly and approachable and always happy to answer any questions. They genuinely care about each pupil and want the best for them.
I know that while my daughter is at school she is safe, well cared for, listened to, working to her full potentail and most importantly she is happy.
Thank you to all the staff, parents and children for making Miserden School the wonderful friendly place it is.
The support and care my children are given is second to none, many thanks to all members of staff.
My children love coming to school that speaks volumes as a parent. The school presents varied learning opportunities ie: forest school and creative curriculum. Teaching staff are great Thanks all.
We have been thrilled with our children’s short time at Miserden and it has been very positive experience for us so far. Thank you for the opportunity for the children to come and join in with Miserden school.
Miserden has always been a great school and it is going from strength to strength. Kids all enjoy it and I am very pleased how any problems are sorted out and how lucky we are to have a very approachable school Bursar and Administrator.
